Very useful for CKD Review by MTMGreenfire
Quality Value Price In addition to being less readily stored as bodyfat, MCT is also more readily converted to ketone bodies than other fats. I have found it especially useful for quickly entering ketosis when switching from the high carbohydrate to the low carbohydrate phase of a cyclical ketogenic diet. I have experienced gastrointestinal side effects as others have described when consuming MCT oil by itself, but in my experience it does not produce this effect, even in large doses, when consumed with a food that also contains at least a few grams of ordinary (long chain triglyceride) fat. Some brands of MCT oil have an awful free fatty acid aftertaste or leak from the bottle, but this one does not. The price is good as well. (Posted on 1/19/12)

after toiling with it... Review by rong
Quality Value Price no matter how much homework you do bodybuilding and supps are like a box of chocolates, you never really know what you gonna get. my experience has been challenging to say the least. add to protien shakes and get the shitz. cut back from 1 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon and get the shitz. cut back to 1/3 teaspoon and less than that (you get the picture) and get the shitz. my body just responded to this with massive runs. so while i dont doubt anyone elses or the research on this for me this products kept me on the toliet for hours. after toiling with it off and on for weeks had to trash it. Review by disrupt0r
Quality Value Price I take it often on empty stomach and have never had any problems. The taste is neutral with an aftertaste that I would personally qualify as pleasant. Following the previous review I sometimes add it to my protein shakes (Elite whey vanilla or chocolate). It mixes very easily and the taste is good. If you want to follow the NHE eating plan (look for the book by Rob Faigin on this site) this is an important supplement. A staple for me. (Posted on 1/19/12)

Review by Evan
Quality Value Price MCT oil has become an essential part of my diet, up there with protein powder and miltivitamins. Not only does it provide extra calories which are used primarily for energy (thus, the fat is not stored in the body), but it also gives my protein shakes a delicious taste. It's odd; by itself, MCT oil is tasteless. But add it to a shake, and it turns it "creamy", both in texture and taste. No more watery taste, it's full and reminiscent of a snickers bar.
Everyone who drinks protein and would like a little more easily-accessed energy should try this out. Just a tbs or two in your shake will do the trick.
[Warning: don't take it by itself. I tried this when I first got the stuff (before I figured out its enlightening effects on pro shakes). It's an instant stomach ache, especially if you haven't had much experience in the past. Just to make sure it wasn't something else I had eaten, I tried again a few days later, same thing. It might just be my body, but, just be wary!] (Posted on 1/19/12) -
